I know that Isis is lots of different things to different people but most of those people associate ISIS with terrorism. I honestly don't care if the name gets changed, personally i think Isis has a cool matrix ring to it and suits as a name for a Joomla admin template but right now the world is filled with opinionated idiots who believe everything they assume.

I just don't want something that we have all worked hard to grow and develope be dragged through the mud just because some [redacted] sees the Isis on his or her website and call the national guard because they automatically assume that their computer is been hacked and used as skynet to spread fear and terror. I will admit that although this seems very unlikely, I have seen dumber people do dumber things! I think a number of people are aware that Isis is also a Egyptian God, and it's not just Joomla that has this problem. A few months ago I was in a training session with one of my clients. On discovering the admin template name he reacted with a bemused "don't they know that they share a name with a terrorist organisation".

We had the same light-hearted conversation that the previous posts above have had Downton Abbey's dog etc but at the end of the session he was a little dumbfounded at the idea that a community project would stick with this name. The Swastika was a sign of peace before the Nazi party appropriated it - nowadays no one in their right mind would use that symbol within a logo.
